Mr. Kaufman specializes in the pre-publication legal review (vetting) of book manuscripts for libel, invasion of privacy and copyright infringement for publishers, Authors and self-publishing.

Mr. Kaufman also specializes in the review and/or negotiation of publishing agreements.

Mr. Kaufman is an active member of the Intellectual Property Bar, having served on both the Copyright Committee and the Entertainment Law Committee of the New York Bar Association, the Copyright Society, and the Copyright Committee, Freedom to Read and Lawyers committees of the Association of American Publishers. He serves as Counsel to the American Book Producers Association. He sits on the Advisory Boards of The Beacon Press and The Artist Book Foundation. Mr. Kaufman has also been elected to the Board of Directors of The Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission. He is a contributor to "Booknews," published by the American Book Producers Association, "Novelist, Inc." "Poets and Writers", "Publishers Marketing Association" magazines. Mr. Kaufman is a graduate of American University (BA), and The Washington College of Law at American University (JD), and New York University (LL.M).
